Legacy Piece Fishing and Mining Guide
What arrived and when
Fishing came in update 1.5 Part 1, the same update that opened Fishman Island — which is also where the Fishman race branch unlocks through the Fishman Elder. The update added a Fishing Gamepass alongside the free system. Full patch notes are on the updates page.
What you need
Both activities are gated behind a craftable tool rather than a purchase:
- Basic Rod — the entry-level fishing tool, on the crafting list.
- Iron Pickaxe — the mining equivalent.
Neither is expensive by mid-game standards, and both are one-time crafts.
The reason to bother: two free dailies
Two quests ask only for time rather than kills:
- Fish for 5 Minutes
- Mine for 5 Minutes
Both are repeatable dailies whose payouts sit alongside the kill-count quests, which makes them the cheapest EXP in the game — they complete while you are barely playing. If you are running the levelling route on the levelling page, claim these first every session.
What fishing actually yields
Salmon and the other fish feed the Fish shop, one of the six shops documented on the shops page. Later updates layered specialised fish chests on top — the Heavenly Fish Chest and Secret Fish Chest that current codes hand out in bulk come from this side of the game.
Mining feeds the ingot economy instead: Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold Ingots are the bulk materials that almost every style and weapon craft consumes by the dozen. Sources and rates for all of them are indexed on the materials page.
Is the Fishing Gamepass worth it?
The board documents that the gamepass exists but does not publish what it changes, so this page will not tell you what it gives. What is documented is that the base system is free and the two daily quests do not require it.
Thanks for the feedback!
