Legacy Piece Gems — Stat Rolls, Sockets and Set Bonuses

The gem system is where a finished build gets its last few percent. Because the board publishes both the roll range and the drop weight for every tier, you can work out whether re-rolling a gem is worth the shards before you spend them.

Should you sell your spare gems?

Each tier has a published shard sell value, so spare gems are a Shard income rather than clutter — and Shards buy chests in the Material Shop. The exception is any gem that rolled near the top of its range on a stat your build actually uses: those are worth more socketed than sold, because re-rolling into the same result costs more than the sale returns.
